About Can-Do
Can-Do was established in 2014 by Gillian Bates and George Bassett– primarily to produce short independent films as well as to hold an international film festival for no and low budget filmmakers. Can-Do also ran, and continues to run, short courses on creative filmmaking using ipads. Through the production of these short films, the joys of acting were rediscovered and Can-Do’s next evolution began; that of storytelling and live performance.
George trained as a storyteller with the Royal Company Storytellers and the portfolio of Can-Do performances began to grow. Since then, Can-Do has toured Halloween Ghost Walks, Christmas Tales and Fairy Walks across Newark and Nottinghamshire. From there, it seemed a natural step to create full-scale performances and widen Can-Do's production company to incorporate multiple actors, storytellers and stage hands.
We are currently touring The Bard's Tales throughout the East Midlands.
